Dr Heather Lambert

Understanding Menopause & Perimenopause
SEMINAR DESCRIPTION

Perimenopause and menopause are key life stages for women, marked by significant hormonal changes that can affect both physical and psychological health. Perimenopause typically begins in a woman's late 30s to early 40s, with menopause being diagnosed after 12 consecutive months without a period, generally around age 50.

Dr. Lambert will delve into the hormonal shifts during these stages, focusing on the decline of key hormones such as oestrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. These fluctuations often lead to various symptoms, including hot flushes, sleep disturbances, mood swings, and changes in libido, among others.

The discussion will also address lifestyle adjustments that can help manage these symptoms, including diet, exercise, and stress management. Additionally, Dr. Lambert will explore the role of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) in alleviating symptoms, improving quality of life, and providing long-term health benefits, such as reducing the risk of osteoporosis and heart disease.

By understanding the hormonal changes during perimenopause and menopause, women can better navigate these transitions with confidence and empower themselves to make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing

Kate Houldsworth

Eating Your Emotions? 5 Steps for Managing Emotional Eating
SEMINAR DESCRIPTION

I spent decades using food as a way of avoiding regulating difficult emotions.

Anxiety was always a big trigger for me, but so was fatigue, insecurity, lack of self-confidence, negative body image, and at the other end, reward for having made it to through a stressful week.

Thankfully, since then I’ve learnt some techniques and strategies that have let me leave all of that behind. That’s not to say that I no longer feel that familiar feeling when anxiety strikes. But I now know how to recognise what’s going on and to go beyond that automatic reaction, to find ways to calm me down or make me feel better that don’t involve food.

In this talk I’ll be sharing five ways you can begin to change this negative behaviour, which will help you to start moving away from the frustrations of emotional eating and leave you calmer, healthier and happier.

ABOUT THIS SPEAKER

Nutrition Coach Kate Houldsworth specialises in helping serial dieters to break away from the frustrating yo-yo cycle and find a gentler way to manage their weight and feel great: with no fads, no quick-fixes and no judgement.

Through her Fad-Free programme, Kate empowers clients to build positive habits and behaviours around food, and with her own history of disordered eating, she understands that losing and maintaining weight is not as simple as “eat less, move more”.

Based in the beautiful South Downs, Kate provides a safe space for leaving diets behind, along with unlimited support, accountability and encouragement.
